Plate-Wise uses advanced AI technology to analyze photos of your meals and automatically identify food items, estimate portions, and calculate nutritional information. Simply take a photo of your meal, and our AI does the rest! You can always edit the results before saving.
Our AI provides estimates based on visual analysis and nutritional databases. For best accuracy, ensure good lighting and clear photos. The AI shows a confidence percentage (e.g., 90%) for each analysis. You can always manually adjust food items and portions if needed.
Free plan includes 3 AI food captures per day (with 7-day data retention in localStorage only). Pro plan ($12.99/month or $129.99/year) offers 30 AI captures per day, 12-month cloud data retention with cross-device sync, AI meal planning, Sage AI chat assistant, advanced analytics, PDF export reports, and priority support.
Yes! You can manually add foods by typing a description (e.g., '2 eggs and toast') and our AI will parse it, or you can use the camera/gallery. Manual text entry has no daily limit and works great for quick logging.
Go to Settings > Notifications and enable meal reminders. You can customize reminder times for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks to help you stay consistent with tracking. Push notifications require allowing permissions on your device.
You can easily edit any food item detected by the AI. Tap the edit (pencil) icon to change the food name, adjust portion size, or manually enter nutritional values. Your corrections help improve future accuracy.
Use the date tabs on the Dashboard (Today, Yesterday) or tap the calendar icon to select any date within your retention period. You can log meals retroactively to keep your streak and history accurate.
Your streak increases each day you log at least one meal. Logging counts even for offline captures! Your streak is visualized as a growing tree in My Garden (Social tab) - from Seed (Day 1) all the way to Grove (Day 45+). Miss a day and your tree starts withering, but you can revive it by logging again!
Go to Settings > Edit Profile and scroll down to find the 'Re-calculate Target Calories' button. The AI will use your current weight, goal weight, height, age, gender, activity level, and health goal to calculate an optimal daily calorie target using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation. Make sure all your profile fields are filled in for accurate results.
Plate-Wise is available on the Google Play Store for Android devices. You can also use the web app version directly in your browser at plate-wise.com - your progress syncs across all platforms!
PlateWise offers 4 input methods: (1) Camera - take a photo for AI analysis, (2) Gallery - upload an existing photo, (3) Voice - speak your food items for hands-free logging, and (4) Type - manually enter food descriptions. All methods work with our AI to estimate nutrition. Camera and gallery use your daily AI capture limits, while voice and text entry are unlimited.
Smart Favorites lets you log frequently eaten foods with one tap! When you heart ❤️ a food item, it's saved to your favorites and tagged with the meal type. On collapsed meal cards, you'll see up to 3 favorite pills for quick one-tap logging. The Add Food picker shows up to 8 favorites filtered by meal type. Favorites are sorted by recent usage and frequency. Long-press (600ms) on any favorite pill to remove it.
PlateWise organizes your daily food into 5 meal types: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, and Supper. Each has its own expandable card on the Dashboard showing total calories and items. You can add multiple food items to each meal throughout the day.
